DETROIT – We’re on track to get some rain between now and the weekend in Metro Detroit.
Here are three things to know about the upcoming rain chances for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday:
- A few showers will move in later Wednesday night after sunset.
- Those showers will continue on and off at times throughout Thursday, and rainfall might be heavy at times.
- Friday could also have a few showers, but we’re not expecting a washout.
The rain Thursday could be heavy, at times, and when it’s not raining, skies will be cloudy or mostly cloudy. The high is 71 degrees and the low is 54 degrees.
Friday will also be mostly cloudy, with a high of 65 degrees.
The total rainfall for Thursday and Friday will likely be between three-quarters of an inch to 1 inch.
The entire region is under a marginal risk (level 1 out of 4) for heavy rainfall or flash flooding on Thursday, according to the Weather Prediction Center.
Due to the lack of rain during Tuesday’s storms, flash flooding isn’t a major concern for the area, though the day could be a washout.
We’ll dry out to start the weekend, though temperatures only make it into the lower 60s on Saturday. Temperatures will rebound into the 70s next week.
