After some sunshine and record temperatures for Tuesday before the thunderstorms rolled through, we will dry things out and bring some cooler temperatures into the forecast for the middle of the week.
Drier weather returns for the middle of the week on Wednesday, but we will cool things down near reasonable temperatures. High pressure will build into the region, so we will see lots of sunshine for most of the day before more clouds move in late in the afternoon and into the evening. High temperatures returning to the low end of the 60s by Wednesday afternoon.
Looking heading to the end of the week, we do bring the chance of rain showers back into the forecast for Thursday and Friday, high temperatures heading for the upper 60s to lower 70s on Thursday will drop into the lower 60s for Friday, before we dry things out looking ahead into the start of next weekend on Saturday. Temperatures getting just a tad bit colder, only making it into the lower 60s for the start of next weekend.
With our next area of low pressure moving into the region for Thursday and Friday, we will see a decent amount of rainfall. Most places are looking at 0.75″ to 1″ of rain, or potentially a little more. The Weather Prediction Center has placed the entire region under a Marginal Risk (1 out of 4) for heavy rainfall/flash flooding for Thursday. As of right now, and due to the lack of rainfall in most places from the thunderstorms on Tuesday, we are not concerned about flash flooding into Thursday, but it does look like it will be a washout for Thursday.
The sunshine looks to stick around into the second half of next weekend as well. Mostly sunny skies can be expected for Sunday. High temperatures getting a little bit warmer. We’ll head into the upper 60s by Sunday afternoon. Expect the dry weather to continue into early next week as well. Mostly sunny skies can be expected for Monday, and temperatures will warm-up again, we’ll head into the lower 70s by Monday afternoon.
The drier weather sticks around into next Tuesday as high pressure will continue to control the forecast and anchor itself to the East of the region. So, the warming trend will continue into the middle of next week. High temperatures heading for the middle 70s by Tuesday afternoon.
