4Warn Weather – Cold air will threaten vegetation in Southeast Michigan Thursday night and Friday morning.
Frost Advisory
A Frost Advisory will be in effect from midnight until 9 a.m. Friday for much of Southeast Michigan, including Genesee, Lapeer, Sanilac, St. Clair, Livingston, Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw,, and Lenawee counties.

Temperatures are forecast to fall into the lower to mid-30s in the advised area.

If left unprotected, frost could damage and kill tender plants. Potted plants can be taken into the garage. Other vulnerable vegetation should be covered with fabric propped up above the plants.
The Frost does not cover Wayne and Monroe counties; overnight temperatures are expected to be in the upper-30s to 40 degrees.
A Freeze Warning will impact portions of Mid-Michigan and all of Northern Michigan, such as Bay City, Midland, Mt. Pleasant, Ludington, Cadillac, Tawas City, Traverse City, Gaylord, and Alpena.
The near-freezing weather is cooler than Friday’s average low of 48 degrees in Metro Detroit.
Besides the impending temperatures in the 30s, Southeast Michigan will have relatively calm conditions on Thursday evening and night. Skies will remain mostly clear. Winds will be out of the north-northeast at 5 to 10 mph.
Friday
Dress warmly on Friday morning. Temperatures will be in the 30s in most Southeast Michigan communities. A pair of sunglasses will also come in handy. Expect a day of sunshine and near-normal highs. While afternoon temperatures will reach the mid-60s in Belleville, Birmingham, Detroit, Lincoln Park, and Roseville, temperatures will be stuck in the 50s in Port Huron and Lexington. Take a jacket for the Tigers’ 6:40 p.m. game.
Winds will be out of the north-northeast at 5 to 10 mph.
Friday night will be cool. Lows will range from 40 to 45 degrees. Temperatures will be near 40 degrees in Manchester, Whitmore Lake, Holly, Ortonville, Lapeer, Sandusky and Port Huron. It will be closer to 45 degrees in Detroit, Highland Park, Ecorse and Woodhaven.
Saturday and Sunday
The weekend will bring great weather for Mother’s Day celebrations.
Both Saturday and Sunday will be comfortable and warm. A stray shower will be possible late Saturday. Highs will reach the lower to mid-70s. Lows will be in the upper-40s and lower-50s. Saturday and Sunday will deliver ample sunshine.
