Warm, unsettled weather pattern taking shape over Metro Detroit

Highs around 80 degrees Monday in Southeast Michigan

Mother Nature is being kind to Metro Detroit for Mother’s Day. The pleasant conditions will continue into the start of the workweek.

Sunday night’s skies will be clear. Overnight lows will range from 44 to 48 degrees in most of Southeast Michigan. Winds will be around 5 mph. Winds will be southeasterly north of M-59 and out of the east-northeast south of it.

Monday

Expect plenty of sunshine Monday after sunrise around 6:15 a.m. After morning temperatures in the 40s, afternoon highs will be around 80 degrees. Clouds will begin to develop in the late afternoon as rain showers get closer to Southeast Michigan. Winds will be out of the south-southeast at 5 to 10 mph.

Rain will push northward from the Ohio Valley on Monday night. A few rain showers will arrive south of I-94 during the late evening. By midnight, rain showers could reach 8 Mile Road. Lows will be in the upper-50s to 60 degrees.

Tuesday & Wednesday

Skies will be mostly cloudy with scattered rain showers on Tuesday and Wednesday. Highs will be in the mid- to upper-70s, and lows will be in the upper-50s to lower-60s both days.

Thursday & Friday

Thursday and Friday will bring lower rain chances, but a few showers and thunderstorms will be possible. Highs will be in the lower- to mid-80s, which is 10 to 15 degrees above average.

Next Weekend

Next weekend, temperatures will fall a few degrees and return closer to normal. A few showers will be possible on Saturday. Skies will be partly cloudy on Sunday.
