Expect a chance of rain showers to continue as we work throughout the middle of the week on Wednesday. And isolated thunderstorm cannot be ruled out late this afternoon and into the evening hours tonight. High temperatures will head into the lower 70s by Wednesday afternoon.

Mostly cloudy skies can be expected overnight tonight, it does look like we get a break from the rain showers. It will be warm and muggy overnight. Overnight lows dropping into the upper 50s and lower 60s.

Looking ahead into Thursday, we will have a warm front lift north into the region, followed by a cold front move through late Thursday night into early on Friday morning. This will keep the chance of showers and thunderstorms into the forecast, and we are tracking the potential for some strong to severe thunderstorms late Thursday night into the overnight hours on Friday morning.

The Storm Prediction Center has placed most of the region under a Slight Risk for severe weather (Level 2 out of Level 5) for late Thursday night into the overnight hours.

If severe weather did develop, damaging winds would be the primary threat, heavy rainfall will also be possible. A few storms may have some hail, and while the risk is low, it is not zero, and isolated tornado may be possible. We are going to keep a very close eye on this potential for severe weather, one thing that is playing in our favor to minimize our risk of severe weather. Is the timing of these thunderstorms. These thunderstorms will move in after sunset so we will lose peak daytime heating, which helps to fuel these thunderstorms, with the system, moving in well into the overnight into early on Friday morning.

Once the system moves off to the east, we will keep the chance of a few thunderstorms in early Friday, but dry things out for majority of the day. High temperatures still remaining warm, into the lower 80s by Friday afternoon.

You’ll keep the chance of a few showers into the forecast to start the weekend on Saturday. Otherwise we will expect a little bit of sunshine and a little bit of cloud cover. Temperatures cooler to start the weekend, heading into the mid 70s by Saturday afternoon.

Expect the dry weather to stick around through the end of the weekend and into early next week, before another chance of rain showers moves in by late next Tuesday night. Temperatures will remain into the 70s both Sunday and Monday, before dropping into the upper 60s by Tuesday with those rain showers returning.
