Staying cool as rain enters picture in Metro Detroit

Highs will be around 10 degrees cooler for next several days

4Warn Weather – Metro Detroit, we already have the cool weather. Temperatures are staying below average with clouds. Now, get ready for the rain.

Under partly cloudy skies, Monday night will be cold. Lows will be in the lower- to mid-40s in Grosse Pointe, Woodhaven and Monroe. Temperatures will fall to around 40 degrees in Ann Arbor, Hartland Township, South Lyon and Utica.

Grand Blanc, Lapeer, Almont and Sandusky are likely to see temperatures in the mid- to upper-30s Monday night, which could stress some tender plants. (WDIV)

Tuesday

The chill will stick around as another game changer arrives Tuesday. Rain showers make their move in from the west and southwest, starting at around 2 p.m. Those first drops will play out south of I-94 and slowly spread northward into more neighborhoods.

Tuesday’s highs will be in the upper-50s to 60 degrees. Average highs are in the lower-70s. With rain showers, overnight lows will range from the mid-40s north of M-59 and near 50 degrees in Detroit.

Wednesday & Thursday

By Wednesday, the rain showers will be numerous. The wet weather will continue into Thursday. So, try to remember to take the umbrella.

Temperatures will be similar on both Wednesday and Thursday. High will be in the upper-50s to near 60 degrees, and lows will be in the mid- to upper-40s.

Friday

Then, rain showers will dwindle. A couple of showers will be possible on Friday, but the better chance will be near Lake Huron. Temperatures will manage to reach the lower-60s. Lows will be in the mid-40s.

Warming up for Memorial Day weekend

As for the weekend, a stray shower cannot be ruled out for Saturday. Otherwise, we will have a mixture of sunshine and clouds through Memorial Day. Highs will be in the mid-60s on Saturday and upper-60s to 70 degrees on Sunday and Monday.

This improvement means there will be good opportunities for outdoor gatherings or ceremonies.
