4Warn Weather – It is easy to wonder if this weather foreshadows a cool summer, but warmer weather is in sight. Plus, the seasonal outlook suggests that Metro Detroit could have a warmer-than-normal summer.
While late May typically brings highs in the lower 70s, much of Southeast Michigan has hovered in the 50s for the past few afternoons.
Friday evening temperatures will be in the 40s and 50s. A few raindrops will be possible, especially in the Thumb. Under partly cloudy skies, overnight temperatures will range from 40 to 45 degrees. The milder temperatures will be east of Telegraph Road. Winds will be out of the west-northwest at 5 to 15 mph.
Saturday
The forecasts call for a slow temperature climb. Saturday’s highs are expected to reach the lower-60s, with a mixture of sunshine and clouds. An isolated shower will be possible Saturday afternoon, but most locations will remain dry.
Lows will be around 40 degrees.
Sunday
Sunday’s weather highlights will be the sunshine and slightly milder temperatures. Highs will be in the mid-60s. Expect lows in the mid-40s.
Monday
Memorial Day will bring comfortable weather to Southeast Michigan. Monday is expected to top out around 70 degrees. That is still just shy of the average for late May, but it is a steady move in the right direction. The average high for Monday is 74 degrees.
Looking Ahead: Gradual improvements and rain mid-next week
If you are planning ahead, keep in mind that another round of showers is aiming to arrive midweek. A few showers could impact Southeast Michigan through the remainder of the workweek, but temperatures will top out at around 70 degrees.
