After some sunshine, hazy skies, thanks to the smoke from the Canadian wildfires, and a strong southerly flow, we’ve sent our high temperatures well into the mid upper 80s for Tuesday, and we will keep the warm weather around for one more day before chances of showers and thunderstorms roll into the region.

Expect the clouds to increase overnight tonight after midnight and early on Wednesday morning. It will be warm and muggy on Tuesday.

Overnight lows dropping into the upper 60s to ride around 70°.

Wednesday

We will have cloud cover around with a little bit of Sunshine for the majority of the day on Thursday.

Then, once we reach the mid-to-late afternoon hours on Thursday, we will watch the radar for showers and thunderstorms to develop.

The Storm Prediction Center has placed the entire region under a marginal risk (1 out of 5 on our severe weather scale) for Wednesday afternoon and evening.

We stand the chance to see a few thunderstorms become severe, but this will not be a widespread severe weather event on Wednesday.

Thursday

If any storm becomes severe, damaging winds in excess of 60 miles per hour and large hail above 1 inch in diameter will be the primary threats.

The thunderstorm chances will wind down late Wednesday night as our cold front pulls to the east, and we will maintain some dry weather in the forecast, with cloud cover and just a little bit of sunshine expected for Thursday.

High temperatures are expected to warm into the mid-to-upper 70s by Thursday afternoon.

Friday

A secondary area of low pressure is expected to develop and move into the region by the end of the week, on Friday.

This will keep the chance of rain showers in the forecast for a good part of the day.

High temperatures are expected to hold into the mid-70s by Friday afternoon.

Weekend forecast

Looking ahead to the weekend, we can expect some sunshine and minimal cloud cover, making for a very nice weekend across the region.

High temperatures in the upper 70s both Saturday and Sunday.

Next week

Our next chance of rain is expected to move into the forecast by Monday afternoon. It continues into Monday evening, with the system lasting into next Tuesday as well, as another frontal boundary approaches the region.

High temperatures in the upper 70s on Monday will drop into the mid-70s by Tuesday.
