The hottest day of the week will clash with an approaching cold front. Expect increasing clouds throughout the morning as highs soar into the upper 80s by the afternoon. Showers and storms will develop in the afternoon, with some potentially strong to severe. The primary threat includes damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph, but large hail cannot be ruled out. The window for storms is mainly from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
