------------

Our first round of showers and thunderstorms move through the region late this morning into the early afternoon hours. Some places have seen quite a bit of rainfall, especially working into Macomb County where radar is indicating that some places could’ve seen 2 to possibly 4 inches of rainfall, resulting in some flash flooding ongoing in the central and north eastern parts of the county.

We are also tracking a probable tornado touchdown in Macomb County as well from the very quick tornado warning that we had early this afternoon from a thunderstorm moving out of Eastern Oakland County into Western Macomb County. We are awaiting final details from the National Weather Service on this probable tornado.

Now that the first round of showers and thunderstorms has moved through the region, we are looking ahead to our next round of showers and thunderstorms that will move through during the mid to late evening hours tonight, that could also possibly be strong to severe.

This is coming with a line of thunderstorms that is currently working through western Indiana, moving off to the northeast with multiple warnings attached to it.

As of right now, it looks like we remain dry, save an isolated shower or thunderstorm until around 6:00 to 7:00 PM this evening. That is when we will watch for the potential of strong sphere, thunderstorms moving into the region, and those will move out by 10:00-11:00 PM tonight.

All of the same hazards we’ve been looking at all day will continue into the evening hours tonight. Damaging winds and excessive of 60 miles an hour, hail above 1 inch in diameter, extremely heavy rainfall and a short period of time leading to the potential of flash flooding, and a few tornadoes.

We will keep a few showers into the forecast as we look ahead through the overnight hours tonight and into Thursday morning as the system moves off to the east before dryer weather works into the region.

We will be watching for any Severe Thunderstorm or Tornado Watches or warning that are issued as we work through the rest of the day.
