Heat and humidity rise in Metro Detroit, strong afternoon storms possible

Marginal risk for severe storms persists throughout weekend

4Warn Weather – Hot and humid today as we rise back into the upper 80s and feeling almost 10 degrees warmer with the heat index.

All of Southeast Michigan will be under a marginal risk for severe storms.

Timewise, storms develop around the same time as yesterday, 2-6 p.m. However, isolated showers and non-severe storms could linger through the evening with gusty winds and heavy rain the primary threats once again. A chance of thunderstorms continues Friday into the weekend as an active pattern holds across the Great Lakes. High temperatures increase back to the upper 80s to 90 degrees today through the weekend.

Weekend

The weekend is shaping up to be drier and warmer than average. High temperatures will rise back into the upper 80s to 90 degrees Saturday and Sunday. There will be a slight chance for a shower or storm south on Saturday, otherwise decreasing clouds and then more sunshine works its way in on Sunday. Heading Up North? Saturday and Sunday will be dry with warming temperatures through the weekend.

Early Next Week

Storms chances return on Monday with highs around 90.
