Weekend bringing brief relief from humidity in Metro Detroit -- Here’s what to expect

Saturday highs in lower 80s; Sunday highs in lower 90s

4Warn Weather – Cooler air is moving into Metro Detroit behind thunderstorms, which have downed power lines and trees in parts of the region.

An isolated rain shower will be possible Friday night, but the threat of severe weather has ended.

Skies will be partly to mostly cloudy, with lows ranging from the mid-60s to near 70 degrees.

It will be around 65 degrees in Ann Arbor, Howell, and Flint. Lows will be about 70 degrees in Detroit, Woodhaven, and Monroe.

Saturday

Cooler, drier air will flow into Southeast Michigan on Saturday. Expect mostly sunny skies, and highs in the lower to mid-80s.

Winds will be out of the west-northwest around 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.

Saturday night will bring refreshing temperatures. Lows will be in the mid-60s.

Sunday

The heat is expected to rise back to around 90 degrees on Sunday. Southeast Michigan will also experience an increase in humidity. Winds will be out of the southwest at 5 to 10 mph.

Sunday night will be mostly clear to partly cloudy for most of Metro Detroit, but a few rain showers could develop overnight. Lows will be around 70 degrees.

Monday

Monday will be hot and humid, with the chance of showers and thunderstorms. The chance of rain will mainly be in the afternoon and evening. Temperatures are expected to reach the mid-to-upper 80s. Lows will be in the mid- to upper 60s.

Tuesday through Thursday

With highs in the mid-80s and lows in the lower to mid-60s, skies will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy on Tuesday and Wednesday. Temperatures are expected to be comparable on Thursday, but a few rain showers and thunderstorms are possible.

Independence Day

Next Friday, Independence Day, will bring partly cloudy skies and a chance for showers. Highs will be in the lower to mid-80s.
