Sunshine for Sunday before rain showers, gusty winds move into Metro Detroit

Rain chances stick around for the first half of the day on Monday before sunshine returns by late in the afternoon

MONDAY: Mostly cloudy skies. A chance of rain showers, primarily in the early morning. Decreasing clouds, skies becoming mostly sunny into the afternoon. Breezy winds anticipated, wind gusts as high as 30-35 MPH. High: 58.

After plenty of cloud cover to start the weekend on Saturday and also a few rain showers as well, we’ve cleared things out overnight last night and into this morning, and we will keep the sunshine into the forecast for the end of the weekend as well.

Drier weather works in by the end of the weekend on Sunday, we will keep mostly sunny skies into the forecast. High temperatures remaining into the 50s by the time we get to Sunday afternoon.

Sunday Morning, we will also “Fall Back” as Daylight Saving Time comes to an end at 2:00 AM Sunday Morning. Don’t forget to set your clocks back 1 hour if you have not already done so as you wake up on Sunday morning.

Looking ahead to the start of next week on Monday, we will bring the chance of rain showers back into the forecast. But we will also bring the breezy winds into the forecast to start next week as well. Expect winds gusting upwards of 30 to possibly 40 miles an hour for much of the day. This chance of rain looks to be primarily in the morning before we start to clear things out around lunch time and into the afternoon. Mostly sunny skies are expected as the kids come home from school Monday afternoon.

Mainly clear skies are expected overnight Monday night into Tuesday morning. It will also be another cold night. Expect overnight low temperatures into the low to mid 30s in the metro, and some 20s possible outside the metro on Tuesday morning.

Drier weather moves in by the time we get to Tuesday, expect mostly sunny skies throughout the day. Temperatures remaining into the 50s by the time we get to Tuesday afternoon.

Another area of low pressure will move through the region for the middle of the week on Wednesday, and this will bring another chance of rain showers to the region. Again, this is not a widespread chance of rain showers, but we have to keep it into the forecast. Drier weather moves into the region for the day on Thursday, before we do the rain chances again. More rain chances move back into the region for the end of the week on Friday. High temperatures heading for right around the 60° for the end of the week on Friday.

The chance of rain showers sticks around into the first half of next weekend on Saturday as well. High temperatures cooler, we’ll head back into the 50s by Saturday afternoon.
