Warm Mother’s Day weekend ahead with garden-friendly weather and a few storm chances

Temperatures reach 70 degrees Saturday

DETROIT – Mother’s Day weekend will bring plenty of opportunities to get out in the garden.

Especially Saturday, when highs reach the 70-degree mark.

We can’t rule out a shower or storm Saturday afternoon, with slightly cooler air returning on Sunday.

We’re getting closer and closer to Mother’s Day weekend, but what should you expect from the temperatures and rain chances in Metro Detroit?

If you see a few rays out your office window this afternoon, step outside and soak it in.

But you’ll need a jacket, as temperatures are about 10 degrees below average, in the mid- to upper 50s.

Frost should not be as much of an issue tonight.

Clouds and a light breeze should help keep our temps above freezing in the upper 30s to around 40 degrees.

Friday starts out dry with sunshine and temps finally cracking the 60-degree mark again.

A few showers return late in the day.
