DETROIT – Snow is still on the weekend menu, but with a few changes.
The first flakes will fly after midnight in our far North Zone and the extreme top of our West Zone. By daybreak, just about everyone should see snow. That will continue periodically through Saturday.
The most intense part of the system should arrive in the afternoon and early evening, before becoming lighter through the mid- to late evening.
That will leave us with 1-2 inches across our area. Locations closer to Lake Erie will see the least, with the highest totals in Sanilac County. Go to our 4ZONE Forecast page for a breakdown of those totals by city.
If your plan is to wait for the snow to melt instead of shoveling, you might have to wait a long time. Temperatures will stay below freezing for the foreseeable future.
Also, this isn't our only shot at measurable snow. Another 1-2 inches is possible Monday evening into Tuesday, and it’s possible the shovels will come back out Thursday, too.
