DETROIT – Temperatures in Metro Detroit will be falling off a cliff overnight, from near 60 degrees Tuesday afternoon to the teens in many spots by Wednesday morning.
With a brisk northwest wind, temperatures will feel like a swing of more than 50 degrees. Skies will remain mostly clear overnight. Morning wind chills will be between 0 and 10 degrees above.
Sunshine will come back Wednesday, but the mild air most certainly will not. We'll barely peek above freezing in the afternoon. Winds will be much lighter.
More sunshine will return Thursday as temperatures slowly climb out of our frigid midweek. Highs will be in the low and mid-40s.
Friday will begin a stretch of wet weather that will leave us soggy through the weekend. We’ll be at our warmest point in the forecast with highs in the low 60s to end the workweek.
Saturday and Sunday will bring more rain with slightly cooler highs in the low to mid-50s.
