DETROIT – High clouds are spreading in from the south and yes, those are remnant clouds from Irma.
Morning temps aren’t as cool due to a blanket of clouds insolating Metro Detroit, but it’s still cool in spots. More upper 40s to low 50s early Tuesday with milky skies or overcast most of the day which limits our high temperature potential today. Look for highs in the mid to upper 70s with a few spots getting close to 80 degrees if we get a couple of hours of thinner clouds this afternoon, but don’t hold your breath. It will be a comfortable day with light winds ENE 5-10 mph.

Our best chance at rain this week comes in a couple of light waves from more remnants of former Hurricane Irma. Most of the energy of this system will break apart through the day today, so there isn’t a lot to tap into tomorrow.
Wednesday forecast
Still, Wednesday rain chances start in the morning with light rain showers struggling to hit the ground. Spotty showers throughout the day and even into early Thursday. Highs tomorrow will be in the low to mid 70s with slightly cooler temps during those showers.
Thursday forecast
We should wake Thursday with rain on radar, but most of it will be to our east. The best chance for morning showers will be for the east side of Metro Detroit and then a gradual clearing throughout the day. Thursday highs will be impacted by the clouds clearing which is not certain yet when it comes to timing.
Skies turn partly sunny midday or early afternoon and if we get a nice mix of sun and clouds, we’ll easily see mid 70s with warmer air on the horizon. Highs will be near 80 degrees and dry Friday through Sunday.
