Urban, small stream flood advisory issued for NE Wayne County

DETROIT – Northeastern Wayne County is under an urban and small stream flood advisory until 4:15 p.m. Tuesday. 

The National Weather Service said radar indicates as much as 2 inches of heavy rain fell over a 3-hour period.

From the NWS:

This will cause urban and small stream flooding in the advisory area. Some locations that will experience flooding include east Detroit, St. Clair Shores, Grosse Pointe and Grosse Pointe Park. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots. 

Thunderstorms are expected to impact Wayne, Oakland County and Washtenaw counties Tuesday afternoon.
