4Warn Weather – Thursday’s comfortable weather conditions were forecast to shift overnight and Friday.
Thursday night
Clouds are expected to increase, and rain showers will approach Southeast Michigan from the west. The rain will start impacting areas near US-23 around midnight and slowly move over Metro Detroit by 2 a.m. Lows will be in the mid to upper 50s.
Friday
On Friday, expect a chance of showers and a few garden-variety thunderstorms. Showers will linger into the morning drive, especially over the Thumb.
It will be mostly dry during the late morning and early afternoon, but pop-up showers and thunderstorms will develop during the late afternoon and evening. Highs will be in the lower to mid-70s. Southwesterly winds will be 5 to 10 mph.
Showers and thunderstorms will move out during the evening. Then, it will be partly cloudy to mostly cloudy. Lows will be in the upper 50s to 60s.
UV Radiation
This weekend’s sunshine will require precautions while in the sunlight. The UV index will be in the very high range during the afternoon. Some individuals may develop sunburn in as little as 15 to 25 minutes without protection. Applying sunscreen and wearing light-colored and lightweight long-sleeve shirts are ways to protect yourself.
Saturday
Saturday will be partly cloudy and mostly dry, but a stray shower is possible. Highs will be in the upper 70s, and lows will be in the upper 50s.
Sunday
The weather will be ideal for Flower Day at Detroit’s Eastern Market. On Sunday, it will be warm and mostly sunny to partly cloudy. Highs will be around 80 degrees, and lows will be in the upper 50s to 60 degrees.
Monday through Wednesday
Following a warm and dry Monday, showers will return on Tuesday and stay for early Wednesday.
Metro Detroit’s normal highs for the next several days are in the lower 70s. The normal lows are in the lower 50s.
