ROMULUS, Mich. – A ground stop has been issued at Detroit Metro Airport due to thunderstorms.
Wayne County is under a severe thunderstorm warning until 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, May 19.
Because of those storms, departures to DTW are grounded until 5:30 p.m. The probability of the ground stop getting extended beyond that time is listed as “medium” -- 30%-60%.
Arrivals to DTW are delayed an average of 15 minutes, and that number is increasing, the FAA says.
